Pool building, renovation and repair in Miami

Miami pools live in hard conditions: strong sun all year, salt air near the bay and the ocean, and some of the highest groundwater in Florida. Many homes in neighborhoods such as Coconut Grove, Shenandoah and Miami Shores have pools that are decades old, while newer construction is pushing pool design forward with sun shelves, spas and large-format tile.

EDX Pools takes on new construction, renovation, resurfacing, tile, coping, deck and repair projects in Miami and across Miami-Dade. Every project starts with a free on-site visit and a written estimate itemized by group. Our office is in Boca Raton, so for Miami we confirm the scope by phone or text first. Send a few photos to (954) 953-3808 and we will tell you what we would look at.

What matters for pools in Miami

Very high groundwater

Much of Miami sits on porous limestone with the water table close to the surface. Draining a pool there without checking groundwater and the relief valve can lift the shell, so we plan any drain carefully. For new construction it also affects digging and dewatering.

Miami-Dade product approval

Miami-Dade has some of the strictest hurricane rules in the country. Items such as screen enclosures, fences and gates may need approved products and permits. We tell you at the estimate what applies to your scope.

Salt air and bay-front homes

Near Biscayne Bay and the beaches, salt air is constant. It wears tile, coping, rails and equipment faster, so material choice matters more and we discuss it on site.

City or county permitting

The City of Miami has its own building department, and unincorporated areas go through Miami-Dade County. Which one applies depends on your address. Permitting is quoted separately when a scope needs it.
